The Timberon Volunteer Fire Station is located at 33 Merlin Dr, Timberon NM 88350. It was put into service in July of 2022.
The Timberon Volunteer Fire Department (TVFD) is always appreciative of funds donated to help recover from the loss of resources and equipment due to fire incidents in Timberon and to help replenish the supplies and items that are used by the TVFD on a daily basis and during emergency situations. If you would like to help, any amount is very much appreciated. The donations to the TVFD are managed by the Timberon Development Council, a 501c3 Non-Profit organization, and 100% of your donation will go directly to the Timberon Volunteer Fire Department.
The Timberon Volunteer Fire Department was organized in October 1974. The department was certified by the state of New Mexico effective January 1976. The first fire truck, a 1951 Chevrolet/Howe, was bought from the Jal New Mexico Fire Department. A 3-bay fire station was built during the latter part of 1981 and the beginning of 1982.
The Emergency Medical Service was formed within the Fire Department on February 20, 1982.
In 2022 a new fire station was completed, located across the street from the original Timberon Fire Department.
The original station is still in use for meetings and community events.
