Happy Tuesday all!!
I hope everyone’s day is starting off on the right foot.
As I am sure some of you noticed I did not send a recap of our June meeting. I wanted to wait and just do a 4th of July reminder. I will say we had a wonderful community meeting with Cesar Ramos. Our community members asked him many different questions, which were answered to the best of his knowledge. As of right now he doesn’t have any opposition in his race for the sheriffs position. As we get closer to the election I am pretty sure someone will step up and run against him, at that point we will give the other candidates the same chance to talk to our community.
Ok, onto this weekend’s festivities……We have a fun filled weekend planned. On Saturday, July 5th, there will be the TVFDs Annual pancake breakfast from 7 am to 10 am. Following that, join us on Sacramento Road for our annual parade. We will once again have vendors set up for the weekend. Instead of setting up the vendors in the Lodge parking lot, they will be set up at the Busy Bee. Saturday night Busy Bee will be hosting another live band. Timberon Development Council has a surprise in the works for Saturday. The Timberon Neighborhood Watch will have their drawing for their spring fundraiser. If you haven’t bought your tickets, they are 20 for $20.00, which gives everyone 2 chances to win the HP laptop or the IPad. You can buy those tickets until the drawing at the Busy Bee or the Timberon Mountain Market, or any one of our watch members. Timberon Development Council will once again hold a garage sale/silent auction that weekend.
We had an awesome turn out on Memorial Day and we hope to be even busier this weekend. If you still want to be a part of this weekend and set up a booth, please get a hold of me and I will make sure you have a spot. That being said, if you cannot get a hold of me and want to participate, please come on down and will make room for you. One way or another we are trying to have something for everyone. Vendor set up is at 8 am Saturday so everyone can watch the parade.
I think that is all for that weekend. I want to take a minute and thank the garden committee for the hard work that those volunteers, led by Lorie Guiles, have been putting into our community garden. Kudos to all who are lending a hand. Also, a huge shout out to the events committee, all these events that are being held thanks to the Events committee. They are all working behind the scenes so our community can come together as a community and enjoy that event. This group is working on events in our future as they work on the current event. I cannot stress enough that we need volunteers on these committees. If you have some spare time and are looking for something to do, please volunteer. These events are only as good as they have been because of volunteers. Also, all monies raised with these events goes back into our little community in some fashion or another. We want to see Timberon continue to grow and become an even stronger community than we are now.
If you ever have a question, suggestion, or even a complaint, please let us know. We will do our best to give you an answer, or if we don’t know, we will surely try to find out an answer. We are a community organization, we are all here because we want to see our community shine bright. Thank you for allowing me into your day.
Respectfully,
Terri Ratley
Vice President
Timberon Development Council
