Howdy All,
We have a lot of events being planned, meetings scheduled to discuss and plan those events. So, please check the list in this email, and if you have some spare time and can volunteer, please do. We have had one change in our Community garden committee. Lorie Guiles has stepped up and is now heading that committee. So, any questions, suggestions, or if you just want to volunteer for the garden, she is now our go to person.
Below you will find a current list of meetings:
1. Monday March 31st: Finance Committee meeting; 6p-7p
Special meeting of Events Committee; 7p-7:30p To discuss Kentucky Derby event and dance
2. April 11th: Repair pool tiles and clean up of the pool area, We need volunteers to help with this event.
3. April 12th: TDC Community Meeting, 10a-11a please attend as there will be many things to discuss for moving forward
Event Committee Monthly meeting 11a-12p
4. April 14th: Finance Committee meeting 6p-7p
Garden Committee meeting 7p-8p: This will be the first meeting, there will be many items to be discussed so the community garden can move forward.
The events committee has their hands full with all the events that are being planned for the spring and summer. Just a short list of events in the planning stages:
Easter
Memorial Day
4th of July
Labor Day
Plus dances that are being planned.
We also still need lifeguards for the pool. In order for the pool to open we need a staff. In order to fill a lifeguard position, that person interested has to become certified, and that takes a little bit of time. That is why we need to fill all positions as soon as possible. We all want our pool to open on time and we don’t want to be in a holding pattern until we get lifeguards. This would be an awesome summer job for anyone over the age of 16. So, parents consider your teenagers, or if you are just looking to make some extra money in the summer. Please apply at the TWSD office.
As you can see we already have quite a bit in the planning stages, and we need help! I know I sound like a broken record, but in order for these events to be successful, we need community help. If you are only able to help stuffing easter eggs, or helping with pool repairs, that’s fine. We had the help of community members for our Christmas dinner, some gave an hour of their time, some just made a dish for dinner, my point being, it takes community involvement to continue these events. The old saying…..it takes a village. If you can give your time, please feel free to reach out to any one of us on the board, or reach out to the committee and tell us where you can help, or just show up for a meeting and feel free to make suggestions.
Respectfully,
Terri Ratley
